This exclusive expedition for Woodlore Ltd (UK) has proved to be a great success since its introduction in 2002. Described as the "Toughest" Battlefield tour in the world we re-enact as close as possible this daring mission from WW2. Four members of the Norwegian resistence attached to company Linge (SOE) with code name "Grouse" landed by parachute on northern europes most desolate mountain range; the "Hardanger vidda". Their intended target? The Heavy water production facility at the Vemork Hydro electric power plant  in Rjukan Telemark. Hitlers attempt at producing enough Heavy water to make an A bomb was to be the focus of the allies attention for over 2 years! Go to www.raymears.com for more information about "The Real Heroes of Telemark" expedition for 2010.

The expedition is also open for military units from other armed forces; our colleagues from NATO forces are particularly welcome to take part in this expedition.

Disclaimer: Information for all UK military units.

Joint Services Training Centre Evjemoen  is an all year round "civilian" Outdoor centre managed by ex Gunner RA Brian Desmond. (Since 2003) The majority of JSTC Evjemoens guests are military groups from several countries and within the respective 3 services; most of these come from allied countries such as Holland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and of course the UK; hence the name JSTC Evjemoen. The instructors at JSTC Evjemoen are fully qualified in their respective activities and have a back-ground withiin UK Adventure Training; the odd exception being an instructor from Swedens special forces. Although the centre has been passed as suitable for AT training/expeditions (HQ Land 2003) it should not be interpreted that the centre is an official Outdoor centre managed by UK armed forces or has an official connection with the UK armed forces own Outdoor centre JSMTC Indifatigable. Having said this we have an excellent safety record in the 7 years we have been running AT for British Armed Forces units and cooperate fully with the respective organisations responsible for AT in the UK.
