NORDIC WINTER COURSE PROGRAM 2017
Introduction to Nordic skiing 21 – 28 January
This course is designed for Novices or those with very little experience of X-country skiing/ski touring.
There will be an intense period of learning a new skill with an overnight expedition to a
mountain cabin at the end of the course in the local mountains of the Setesdal.

High Level Telemarking above the Arctic Circle
This week of Telemark skiing takes place in the spectacular mountain area around the city of
Tromsø and the Lyngen alps not far from the Russian/Finnish border. Only those who have experience of Telemark skiing will be afforded a place on this attractive course. Emphasis will be placed on improving your individual Telemark technique in a new and challenging environment. This week of Telemark skiing must surely be the ultimate experience of combining ski mountaineering top tours using the Telemark technique. For a detailed plan click here.
THE HEROES OF TELEMARK
Destination Setesdal will carry out a total of 6 Heroes of Telemark expeditions from
January to April 2017. We have already taken bookings from organizations/military units for 2018,
there are likely to be only 2 dates/expedition slots available during the winter of 2018.

Destination Setesdal is ideally placed to run water based activities/courses/expeditions whether it be
WW kayak paddling on the numerous rapids or Open Canadian canoe expeditions on the many rivers
and inland fjords that are just a short drive away. With the Setesdal mountain range in close proximity
it is possible to use Evje as a base for your trekking expeditions whether it is for a private/family trip or a group/military expedition (AT) or DOE award. We are now taking bookings for the “Viking Trail” expedition which takes place between June and September, combine trekking in the Setesdal mountains followed by a 65 kms paddle down the river Otra and along the spectacular Byglandsfjord.
